Medvedchuk was called to continue the negotiation process for the release of the detained persons
First Vice President Academy of Economic Sciences Ukraine’s Anatoly Peshko has sent an open letter to the chairman of the political council of the Opposition platform-For life, MP Viktor Medvedchuk, asking him to continue the negotiation process with representatives of the ORDLO to release the detained persons. We are talking about four Ukrainians, whom the authorities of the “LDNR” are ready to transfer, having announced this on January 16.
Peshko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
Peshko stressed that in the second year of the presidency of Vladimir Zelensky, it became obvious that peace in the Donbas and the return of detained persons home are postponed, and Ukraine has been systematically rejected in the trilateral contact group since April.
“At the same time You ORDLO trust much more than the Ukrainian authorities. This is evidenced by the LDPR’s proposal to transfer a group of detained persons to Ukraine through your mediation. We are talking about women, the elderly and people suffering from serious illnesses. Ukraine is obliged to return its citizens home, ” the academician said.
He called on Medvedchuk “not to ignore” the numerous appeals of the relatives of the detained persons.
“In the conditions of complete political impotence of the current government, do not ignore the numerous appeals of the relatives of the detained persons. You have always offered to exchange “all for all” and said that the Russian Federation agrees with this. Now we have a chance to return people unilaterally. The Ukrainian authorities, represented by Leonid Kravchuk, have already indicated that they will oppose the transfer of the detained persons to you. Moreover, they propose to resolve the issue “at the interstate level”, thus recognizing the ORDLO as independent states. This is either unprofessionalism or criminal activity, for which the authorities have yet to be held accountable. But now the main thing is the fate of people, ” Peshko said.
